Etsy Pop-up Shops & Subscription Box Kiosks

For the first half of this studio design course, students selected a maker/seller from the online marketplace, Etsy. Following the established identity of their selected Etsy shop’s logo and product aesthetic, students generated a concept for a physical pop-up shop to represent the online store as a boutique shop for a local high-end shopping mall.

During the second half of the semester, students were paired with graphic design students in a collaborative project to develop a concept for a subscription box and then design an engaging kiosk for a local train station, where potential customers could learn about the subscription box and sign up for the service if interested. A significant component of their design was to develop an interactive element that would grab the attention of rail passengers and encourage them to learn about the product.
